Additional Information

Description

KC, born Harry Wayne Casey, is the founder and charismatic frontman of KC and the Sunshine Band, the Florida-based group that essentially wrote the soundtrack for the mid-1970s disco and funk era. Born in 1951, KC began his career working in the warehouse at TK Records in Hialeah, Florida, where he eventually teamed up with bassist Richard Finch to create a signature “Sunshine Sound” that combined upbeat R&B, funk, and infectious dance rhythms.
Known for his high-energy performances and repetitive, catchy songwriting, KC helped the band become the first act since the Beatles to score four #1 pop singles in a single 12-month period.
This medley is a 6 minute mashup of the band’s 3 biggest hits.
3h & 6h versions also available.
  • “Get Down Tonight” (1975)
This was the band’s first major U.S. hit and the lead single from their triple-platinum self-titled album. Famous for its sped-up guitar intro, it topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and the R&B charts, establishing KC as a leader of the emerging disco movement.
  • “That’s the Way (I Like It)” (1975)
Released just months after “Get Down Tonight,” this track solidified the band’s “party anthem” status. With its iconic “uh-huh, uh-huh” refrain, it remains one of the most recognizable songs in pop history and is a staple at weddings and sporting events globally.
  • (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” (1976)
Coming from their third album, Part 3, this song earned the group a Grammy nomination and further cemented their dominance on the dance floor. Like their other hits, its simple, rhythmic lyrics were a deliberate choice by KC to create music that was easily identifiable and relentlessly positive
